My GUI license is expired, but I failed to open the link provided to extend the License. I have tried many many times.
Anyone have the same problem?

Hi All,

I have a similar problem. My license was expired and I have a new one now. I want to keep working with the old D3D setup which is 4.01.00.rc.02. Is there an easy way to use the new license and continue using the old version of D3D, or should I install the new version as suggested in the email?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Daan,

You can install different Delft3D versions next to each other. Key point is that the script "...\win32\d3d_menu.bat" inside the related version is executed when you want to run the related Delft3D version. The installation procedure should take care of that.

Version 4.01.00.rc.02 can work with the new license file too. But do make a backup of the old license file for safety.

Adri

Hi Qinghua,

My license was expired on 31-dec-2017 and I have a new one now. I want to keep working with the old D3D setup which is 4.01.00.rc.02. Is there an easy way to use the new license and continue using the old version of D3D, or should I install the new version as suggested in the email? Second question, can my simulated results in the past be checked using the new version if I install a new version?

Thanks in advance,

Chunping

Hi Chunping,

Yes there is: copy the new lic-file to directory "c:\Program Files (x86)\DS_Flex" and you can continue using 4.01.00.rc.02

If your simulation runs with 4.01.00.rc.02, it will most probably also run using the new version. You can install the new Delft3D version next to existing Delft3D installations. You will get a separate icon on your desktop to start the new Delft3D version, so you can choose with what Delft3D version you want to do the computations. QuickPlot has the very handy option "file -> diff files..." to compare the results of two computations of the same model.
