Coast / Estuary

Coastal systems are among the most dynamic physical systems on earth and are subject to a large variety of forces. The morphodynamic changes occurring to coastlines worldwide are of great interest and importance. These changes occur as a result of the erosion of sediments, its subsequent transport as bed load or suspended load, and eventual deposition.

Estuaries are partly enclosed water bodies that have an open connection to the coast. Estuaries generally have one or more branching channels, intertidal mudflats and/or salt marshes. Intertidal areas are of high ecological importance and trap sediments (sands, silts, clays and organic matter).
Within the Delft3D modelling package a large variation of coastal and estuarine physical and chemical processes can be simulated. These include waves, tidal propagation, wind- or wave-induced water level setup, flow induced by salinity or temperature gradients, sand and mud transport, water quality and changing bathymetry (morphology). Delft3D can also be used operationally e.g. storm, surge and algal bloom forecasting.

Muppet installation

Hi,

Muppet appears to be a good post-processing tool and I would like to install it. Even if I followed the procedure stated in the publicwiki for Windows 7 (64 bits), I was not able to install Muppet.

It says that I need to install Matlab Compiler Runtime v7.11, but it is already installed on my computer. I am indeed able to run Quickplot, which requires MCR v7.11.

Has anybody experienced such difficulties while installing Muppet?

In addition, I managed to install Muppet on an old computer which uses Windows XP – 32 bits. However, we were not able to make it work as we get the following error message when we launch the application.

??? Undefined function or variable 'matlabrc'

Could anyone help me please?

Regards,

Vincent

The same problem here ... I have MCR v 8.11 I installed when installing Delft3d, but It doesn't seem to work ... do we need the old version of MCR( 7.11) anyway? I cannot find it, in Deltares web page the link is broken ...
