Coast / Estuary

Coastal systems are among the most dynamic physical systems on earth and are subject to a large variety of forces. The morphodynamic changes occurring to coastlines worldwide are of great interest and importance. These changes occur as a result of the erosion of sediments, its subsequent transport as bed load or suspended load, and eventual deposition. 
 
Estuaries are partly enclosed water bodies that have an open connection to the coast. Estuaries generally have one or more branching channels, intertidal mudflats and/or salt marshes. Intertidal areas are of high ecological importance and trap sediments (sands, silts, clays and organic matter).
Within the Delft3D modelling package a large variation of coastal and estuarine physical and chemical processes can be simulated. These include waves, tidal propagation, wind- or wave-induced water level setup, flow induced by salinity or temperature gradients, sand and mud transport, water quality and changing bathymetry (morphology). Delft3D can also be used operationally e.g. storm, surge and algal bloom forecasting.

Ha all!

I have a few questions about Delft3D. I am combining the FLOW and WAVE modules.

1. My wave heights are not changing in the whole grid. Only the wave heights at the coast they change a bit? It seems like nothing is happening in the rest of the area? Does someone know why this is the case? See Figure1

2. Further, I am not sure what to fill in by the FLOW module and then I picket water level and harmonic. But what to fill in at phase and frequency? See Figure 2

3. And the last question is about the WAVE module. I am not sure how the directions of the waves are filled in. The waves are coming from 292 degrees (with north to the north). But what to fill in for the directions for the eastern boundary? Is this again 292 degrees, Because the waves are still coming from 292 degrees (when north is to the north).
