In an hands-on case the participants coupled a SOBEK 3 channel flow model and an RTC-Tools control model via OpenMI. The SOBEK model represents a section of the Elbe river (Germany) with two branches and a weir. The RTC-Tools model contains a control scheme that opens the weir during high water and closes the weir during low conditions. The training was given by Bernhard Becker and Andreas Burzel (both Deltares). All participants have a water-related background, but in different disciplines: operational forecasting, policy making, risk assessment, hydraulics, water quality, river engineering and ecology.

Bernhard Becker 2015-03-12T10:10:32Z 2-day PAO course on RTC-Tools on March 18 and 19, 2015 (TU Delft) Bernhard Becker http://oss.deltares.nl/web/rtc-tools/home/-/blogs/2-day-pao-course-on-rtc-tools-on-march-18-and-19-2015-tu-delft 2015-01-28T13:09:14Z 2015-01-28T13:06:50Z
PAO (= postacademische opleiding)

Lecturers: Peter-Jules van Overloop (TU Delft), Klaas-Jan van Heeringen (Deltares), Dirk Schwanenberg (Deltares), Jan Talsma (Deltares).

More information
Bernhard Becker 2015-01-28T13:06:50Z Paper about RTC-Tools online in Journal of Hydroinformatics Bernhard Becker http://oss.deltares.nl/web/rtc-tools/home/-/blogs/paper-about-rtc-tools-online-in-journal-of-hydroinformatics 2015-01-16T14:09:20Z 2015-01-16T14:06:27Z

This paper about RTC-Tools has recently been made available online:

Schwanenberg, D.; Becker, B.
