I am going to do something similar..how was it going?Hernán Larriva2019-11-12T16:43:24ZRiver and dam modelJeffer Canonhttps://oss.deltares.nl/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=1806765&messageId=8086392016-01-06T18:54:13Z2016-01-06T18:37:49ZHello everyone,

I am working on my thesis to set a river and reservoir model together. The reservoir was created to produce hydroelectric energy. Between river upstream and the dam there are approximately 40 km. The model lets analyze river's morphological process and dam’s sedimentation. Upstream the river has a water depth around 2 m and the dam reservoir depth is 40 m. So, I get my first question: Should I use more than one layer whether I only need to model flow and sediment process?

Besides, I set downstream boundary just in the dam, it means, I don’t have grid in the downstream dam. I have daily time-series with discharges from gates and spillway and water level. Upstream in the river there are daily time-series of discharges. Could anyone suggest how set boundary condition in the reservoir?

I attached an image to understand it better.

Thank you in advance.

JefferJeffer Canon2016-01-06T18:37:49Z
