Delft-FEWS Canadian User Workshop
Development of flow forecasting systems continues to advance in Canada, with common challenges and development needs across diverse forecasting centers. The Delft-FEWS platform has been now been implemented in most provinces and territories across the country for both flood forecasting and hydropower. Users have developed practical knowledge and diverse experiences in building and operating forecasting systems.
This workshop aims at bringing the Delft-FEWS user community together to meet, share experiences and ideas and to learn about new developments. There will be a technical focus on a variety of methods in the forecasting process, such as data processing, use of modelling tools, verification and design of informative displays. Group and panel discussions will focus on identifying shared development needs and better connecting research to operations. This workshop is intended for practitioners in hydrological and flood forecasting, as well as researchers interested in the operational practice. Practitioners not employing Delft-FEWS are very welcome to join and contribute as well.
Registration details and the program of the workshop are published on the website of the Canadian Water Resources Association.
