Introducing Daniel Bachmann, keynote speaker for the Delft-FEWS User Days

The keynote address on November 11, on the second day of the annual User Days event for the global Delft-FEWS community, will be delivered by Daniel Bachmann. The title of his presentation is "Flood Event 2021 in Germany: More Research Into Practice!". In this short bio, he is introduced to the community.

Since September 2018 Daniel works as Professor for Hydromechanics, Hydrodynamic modelling and Flood risk management at the Department of Water, Environment, Building and Safety (WUBS) at the University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg-Stendal. He studied, obtained his doctorate and taught at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at RWTH Aachen University between 1998 and 2014. The focus of his dissertation was on the development of a decision support system for the evaluation and planning of flood protection measures. Between 2014 and 2018, Daniel also worked at Deltares, in the department of Flood Risk Management, so he could be a familiar face for some of us. He is still teaching and researching flood risk management, supported by AG FRM.
