What does the Delft-FEWS community mean to you?

This was the main topic during the 24th Community Strategy Board (CSB) meeting in March. The CSB members had lively discussions in small groups about the following questions: 

• What makes membership of a community meaningful for you? What’s in it for you?  

• Why does the Delft-FEWS community exist? What is the purpose?  

• How would the ideal community look in the future? How would our interaction look, online and offline?

We concluded that membership of the community offers the opportunity to meet other experts and share experiences, learn from each other's developments, and get inspired to use undiscovered features in your system. Another benefit is being able to develop new techniques in a collaborative way, facilitated by Delft-FEWS Product Management.

Although the community already meets at various (regional) User Days and webinars, more points of contact could be effective, like thematic webinars about experiences from recent flood events or specific Delft-FEWS features. Regular drop-in sessions with a 'How-to …?' theme could create even more opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange. We have already formed a plan to organize these new events.
