intro story Coast / Estuary

Coast / Estuary

Coastal systems are among the most dynamic physical systems on earth and are subject to a large variety of forces. The morphodynamic changes occurring to coastlines worldwide are of great interest and importance. These changes occur as a result of the erosion of sediments, its subsequent transport as bed load or suspended load, and eventual deposition.

Estuaries are partly enclosed water bodies that have an open connection to the coast. Estuaries generally have one or more branching channels, intertidal mudflats and/or salt marshes. Intertidal areas are of high ecological importance and trap sediments (sands, silts, clays and organic matter).
Within the Delft3D modelling package a large variation of coastal and estuarine physical and chemical processes can be simulated. These include waves, tidal propagation, wind- or wave-induced water level setup, flow induced by salinity or temperature gradients, sand and mud transport, water quality and changing bathymetry (morphology). Delft3D can also be used operationally e.g. storm, surge and algal bloom forecasting.

Compilation - VS won't copy wave.exe

Hello  everyone,

I am currently trying to compile Delft3D (tag: Delft3D_FM_62926)

i was able to do it for every solution, apart from the wave one.

I keep getting the error "wave_exe : error PRJ0019: A tool returned an error code".

Apparently the compiler doesn't know wether  "...\bin\x64\dwaves\bin\wave.exe"  is a folder or a file and can't copy the wave.exe to the directory.

---------

Log message:

"Ist das Ziel C:\Delft3D\Repository\Delft3D_FM_62926\src\bin\x64\dwaves\bin\wave.exe ein Dateiname
oder ein Verzeichnisname"

--------

I followed the instructions on this thread "https://oss.deltares.nl/web/delft3d/general1/-/message_boards/message/336176".

I deleted the destination folder, changed the Delft3D folder to C:\Delft, tried to manually copy the wave.exe to the destination folder.

None of the above solved my problem.

The complete log follows attached.

Any light on this?

Best regards,

Lucas
