Coast / Estuary

Coastal systems are among the most dynamic physical systems on earth and are subject to a large variety of forces. The morphodynamic changes occurring to coastlines worldwide are of great interest and importance. These changes occur as a result of the erosion of sediments, its subsequent transport as bed load or suspended load, and eventual deposition. 
Estuaries are partly enclosed water bodies that have an open connection to the coast. Estuaries generally have one or more branching channels, intertidal mudflats and/or salt marshes. Intertidal areas are of high ecological importance and trap sediments (sands, silts, clays and organic matter).
Within the Delft3D modelling package a large variation of coastal and estuarine physical and chemical processes can be simulated. These include waves, tidal propagation, wind- or wave-induced water level setup, flow induced by salinity or temperature gradients, sand and mud transport, water quality and changing bathymetry (morphology). Delft3D can also be used operationally e.g. storm, surge and algal bloom forecasting.

Dear Delft user community,

I am trying to use RTC (Real-Time Control) in a simple Delft3d-Flow model to try develop water management system. I do not have much experience in before, so I have a question about that and at the end, I will give the relevant files.

I was going to try run the model and coupling the flow model with RTC module, but it wasn't working well. The flow cmd box (attached) and rtc cmd box (attached) was freeze. But, when I try to run the model without RTC module, it was running as well as usual. The tri-diag files only displays ‘Creating new trih’ and ‘Creating new trim’ at the end. Does anyone know what was going on? I hope someone here will be able to give a clue about what might go wrong.

Hi Andi,
I am facing the same problem. Have you figured it out?
 I am using delft3d-rtc to model the effect of the real time gate operation on flow . I use delft3d version 4.04.04 download from delft3d center. I always get the error:In synchronisation with RTC Routine:SyncFlowRtc_Init in tri-diag.2dw. I use the test example, 09.01-basic attached by Adri Mourits (  , as Adri suggested I have changed the path inside the script.
