Coast / Estuary

Coastal systems are among the most dynamic physical systems on earth and are subject to a large variety of forces. The morphodynamic changes occurring to coastlines worldwide are of great interest and importance. These changes occur as a result of the erosion of sediments, its subsequent transport as bed load or suspended load, and eventual deposition. 
 
Estuaries are partly enclosed water bodies that have an open connection to the coast. Estuaries generally have one or more branching channels, intertidal mudflats and/or salt marshes. Intertidal areas are of high ecological importance and trap sediments (sands, silts, clays and organic matter).
Within the Delft3D modelling package a large variation of coastal and estuarine physical and chemical processes can be simulated. These include waves, tidal propagation, wind- or wave-induced water level setup, flow induced by salinity or temperature gradients, sand and mud transport, water quality and changing bathymetry (morphology). Delft3D can also be used operationally e.g. storm, surge and algal bloom forecasting.

Dear friends:
I run a simulation of Storm Surge by coupling Flow and Wave modules. While something go wrong and it shows "SWAN PRINT file contains ERROR". So I check the PRINT file, and it says "Error : 3 comp. grid points on one line" and "Error: Grid angle <0 or >180 degrees".
I think the point is in the grid file, in more detail the grid file shows normally in Flow Visualization and RGFGRID, while it shows mussy and wild in Wave Visualization. I don't know how to correct it.
My grid file is attached.

Hi Fuchun,

As we know now, the missing value in wave grid cannot be -999.000, but should be 0.000,

Hello,

I am having a similar problem to the OP. I have a grid and depth that display well in both QUICKIN and in the Delft3D-FLOW input, but when I try to visualize it in DELFT3D-WAVE all I get is a straight line. I tried filling the missing depth values with 0.000 and I still got just a line when I tried to visulize area in DELFT3D-WAVE.

I have attached my grid files.

I am currently facing a similar issues as well I get the error '3 comp. grid points on one line' even though I have replaced the missing values with 0.000

Were you able to work around it or any help from the platform.
