Coast / Estuary

Coastal systems are among the most dynamic physical systems on earth and are subject to a large variety of forces. The morphodynamic changes occurring to coastlines worldwide are of great interest and importance. These changes occur as a result of the erosion of sediments, its subsequent transport as bed load or suspended load, and eventual deposition. 
Estuaries are partly enclosed water bodies that have an open connection to the coast. Estuaries generally have one or more branching channels, intertidal mudflats and/or salt marshes. Intertidal areas are of high ecological importance and trap sediments (sands, silts, clays and organic matter).
Within the Delft3D modelling package a large variation of coastal and estuarine physical and chemical processes can be simulated. These include waves, tidal propagation, wind- or wave-induced water level setup, flow induced by salinity or temperature gradients, sand and mud transport, water quality and changing bathymetry (morphology). Delft3D can also be used operationally e.g. storm, surge and algal bloom forecasting.

Help with CONSBL process

Hi All,

In my substance file I have the following substances:
Algae (non-diatoms)

The model is working for primary production but I wanted to include 1 grazer class with CONSBL.
The strange thing is that the set-up for this process needs DetX as a user input and it makes it constant.
Shouldn't this be already linked to the modelled DetCS1, DetNS1 and DetPS1 in case of zoobenthos and to POC1/2, PON1/2 and POP1/2 for plagic zoo?

Hey João,

DetC and DetCS1 are two different "substances". So you have to add DetC to your substances and activate relevant processes if you want it's value to be computed.
The same holds for DetN adn DetP.

This is enough power for the thinking board to available on the board. Thinker board becomes best for AssignmentHolic. You can take a power bank to charge the phone, but once in a day not more than that.
