RE: What is this error? - D-Flow Flexible Mesh - Delft3D
intro story D-Flow FM
D-Flow Flexible MeshD-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) is the new software engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. Together with the familiar curvilinear meshes from Delft3D 4, the unstructured grid can consist of triangles, pentagons (etc.) and 1D channel networks, all in one single mesh. It combines proven technology from the hydrodynamic engines of Delft3D 4 and SOBEK 2 and adds flexible administration, resulting in:
An overview of the current developments can be found here. The D-Flow FM - team would be delighted if you would participate in discussions on the generation of meshes, the specification of boundary conditions, the running of computations, and all kinds of other relevant topics. Feel free to share your smart questions and/or brilliant solutions!

dear Shawn,
The error indicates that one of the nefis files is not found, not opened, or cannot be written in. From the info you provided, I cannot judge which file or which part the file is related.
Would you have more info?
Qinghua

Hi Qinghua,
Thanks for your reply..
I have had some trouble with the NEFIS in some of the tutorial problems..
for example in the friesian_tidal_inlet example problem, I get the following warnings:
Incidentally, this example problem poses a curiosity on my installation:
I can't run any FLOW only examples.. (e.g. 01_standard). However, this FLOW only model runs.. it uses Salinity, Pollutants and tracers, and Wind processes.
When I try to reduce the complexity of this model to resemble a basic sealevel oscillation FLOW model, it will not run.. again with the glibc error!
Any hints?

Hi, Shawn,
From the copy of the screen, it shows the model works fine. Notice the last sentence: d_hydro is shutting down normally.
The error messages above the sentence will disappear when you delete the old com files in the project folder before you start a new run.
Regards,
Qinghua

OK..
But, if I unselect the options to include Salinity and Pollutants, then the model will not run.
It will work If I select Salinity again.
Weird.. any idea?

dear Shawn,
did you solve the problem already or still have it?

Hi Qinghua,
In a different thread, you had me recompile the latest trunk and gave me a new d3d_publish.f90 file. Initially, the recompile didn't solve the problem, but once you gave me the new d3d_publish.f90 file and I recompiled, everything worked well. I am curious - what was in that f90 file?
Cheers,
Shawn

dear Shawn,
Some unused pointers are removed from the code. Some compiler can bare with it, while others might complain.
It has been updated into the trunk code as well.
Cheers,
Qinghua

Cool.. thanks.
BTW, D3D still working well. She's humming a treat.
