How to use w32 ? - D-Flow Flexible Mesh - Delft3D
intro story D-Flow FM
D-Flow Flexible MeshD-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) is the new software engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. Together with the familiar curvilinear meshes from Delft3D 4, the unstructured grid can consist of triangles, pentagons (etc.) and 1D channel networks, all in one single mesh. It combines proven technology from the hydrodynamic engines of Delft3D 4 and SOBEK 2 and adds flexible administration, resulting in:
An overview of the current developments can be found here. The D-Flow FM - team would be delighted if you would participate in discussions on the generation of meshes, the specification of boundary conditions, the running of computations, and all kinds of other relevant topics. Feel free to share your smart questions and/or brilliant solutions!

How to use w32 ?

Hello,
I needed a post compiled version of delft 3D, because I can't compile it due to administrators rights...
I finally got a version which should work on windows. The problem is that I'm completely lost with the w32 folder that was sent to me.
In it there are 11 other folders : delft3d_matlab, flow, gpp, lib, menu, plugins, quickplot, rtc, tide, util, wave. I have also downloaded the source code with the examples.
What should I do to run an example in a first time ?
Regards,
Jérôme.

dear Jérôme,
Welcome to Delft3D user community!
I assume what you got is a copy of standard installation. Most probably the files you got are not for a direct compiling from the open source code you got. Check in those folders whether you have deltares_hydro.exe, flow2d3d.dll. If yes, you might be able to use it for the examples in source code. Otherwise you have to manage to compile by yourself.

Qinghua YE

Dear Qinghua Ye,
Thank you for your help and your welcome.
I found in "win32\flow\bin" deltares_hydro.exe and flow2d3d.dll. How should I process now ?
I'm sorry if I´m asking something that I could find somewhere in this website, but for me it's not really clear.
Regards,
Jérôme.

Hello,
I have tried this way : I have created the folder "bin" in witch I have put the "w32" folder and the "examples" folder.
Then I went to one of the sub-directories of "examples" (01_standard) and I executed "run_flow2d3d.bat".
C:\Users\JChevalier\Desktop\bin\examples\01_standard>run_flow2d3d.bat
The system cannot find the path specified.
Press any key to continue . . .
Where am I doing mistakes ?
Thank you.
Regards,
Jérôme

Hi Jérôme,
Would you have double check the path in the bat file?
