D-Flow Flexible Mesh

D-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) is the new software engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. Together with the familiar curvilinear meshes from Delft3D 4, the unstructured grid can consist of triangles, pentagons (etc.) and 1D channel networks, all in one single mesh. It combines proven technology from the hydrodynamic engines of Delft3D 4 and SOBEK 2 and adds flexible administration, resulting in:

  • Easier 1D-2D-3D model coupling, intuitive setup of boundary conditions and meteorological forcings (amongst others).
  • More flexible 2D gridding in delta regions, river junctions, harbours, intertidal flats and more.
  • High performance by smart use of multicore architectures, and grid computing clusters.

Ubuntu 12.04 32Bit + DelftFlow = DD Problem?

Hi All,

I have been trying to get delft3d to compile under linux using the gnu compilers. I make the changes suggested by Joao here:

To make it point to the correct locations for mpich etc.

used the modified ./ -gnu to compile which seemed to go through ok except for some problems with the install scripts:

Target directory: ../bin
Source : all engines
installing all open source projects . . .
installing d_hydro . . .
Gathering libraries for d_hydro...
loader cannot load itself
/usr/bin/ldd: line 161: /lib64/ cannot execute binary file
... Finished gathering libraries
installing flow2d3d . . .
cp: cannot stat `lib/': No such file or directory
can't copy "lib/" to "../bin/lnx/flow2d3d/bin"
Gathering libraries for flow2d3d...
loader cannot load itself
/usr/bin/ldd: line 161: /lib64/ cannot execute binary file
... Finished gathering libraries

which it repeated for every component. In anycase checked the ../bin/lnx/flow2d3d/bin and lib folders and they have stuff in there so thought I would try some exacmples:

Examples 1,3 and 4 all work fine but example 2 (which is the model setup that I want to run!) fails with this message:

       - Starting "d_hydro.exe" may give more information:
         - Run "deltares_hydro.exe <INI-inputfile> -keepXML".
         - Run "d_hydro.exe TMP_config_flow2d3d_<processId>.xml".

Also tried version with same results...

Any ideas?
