D-Flow Flexible Mesh

D-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) is the new software engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. Together with the familiar curvilinear meshes from Delft3D 4, the unstructured grid can consist of triangles, pentagons (etc.) and 1D channel networks, all in one single mesh. It combines proven technology from the hydrodynamic engines of Delft3D 4 and SOBEK 2 and adds flexible administration, resulting in:

  • Easier 1D-2D-3D model coupling, intuitive setup of boundary conditions and meteorological forcings (amongst others).
  • More flexible 2D gridding in delta regions, river junctions, harbours, intertidal flats and more.
  • High performance by smart use of multicore architectures, and grid computing clusters.

How to get Heat Fluxes Output in Open Delft 3D?

Greetings,

I'm running some experiments in delft 3d and i have two questions about some output that i'm needing:

1. How can i get the Heat Fluxes (Sensible heat flux, Latent heat flux and Long wave flux) and the Heat Flux Balance as an output?
2. Is possible to get the CFL value that the model calculate as time series?

If anyone can give some tips, i will appreciate it.

As to your first question,

If you add a keyword HeaOut = true in the mdf file, you will get the heat flux output. However you have to take care of the heat model type by yourself. There are 5 types of heat model in Delft3D. Refer to Delft3D FLOW manual Appendix B.5.3 for output and Section 9.8 for the details of heat models.
