D-Flow Flexible Mesh

D-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) is the new software engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. Together with the familiar curvilinear meshes from Delft3D 4, the unstructured grid can consist of triangles, pentagons (etc.) and 1D channel networks, all in one single mesh. It combines proven technology from the hydrodynamic engines of Delft3D 4 and SOBEK 2 and adds flexible administration, resulting in:

  • Easier 1D-2D-3D model coupling, intuitive setup of boundary conditions and meteorological forcings (amongst others).
  • More flexible 2D gridding in delta regions, river junctions, harbours, intertidal flats and more.
  • High performance by smart use of multicore architectures, and grid computing clusters.

Output for Delft3D waq from a wave-flow coupled simulation

Hi, everybody

I am encountering a new problem. I am making a wave-flow coupled simulation. I want to get the a flow field which can be used by water quality model. There are two possible ways to get the field for water quality model. First, using the inline water quality model output in the GUI of Delft3d Flow. Second, Generate a com- file and couple it with water quality model using the couple program in Water quality. 

By the first method, I really got the flow field input file for water quality model. But when I try to the second method, I found the com-file generated by wave-flow coupled simulation is rather smaller. I think the file was only used to coupled simulation of wave-flow, not the output file as common used for flow-water quality simulation. 

My question is whether can I get a com-file which can be used for water quality simulation in the second method?
