D-Flow Flexible Mesh

D-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) is the new software engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. Together with the familiar curvilinear meshes from Delft3D 4, the unstructured grid can consist of triangles, pentagons (etc.) and 1D channel networks, all in one single mesh. It combines proven technology from the hydrodynamic engines of Delft3D 4 and SOBEK 2 and adds flexible administration, resulting in:

  • Easier 1D-2D-3D model coupling, intuitive setup of boundary conditions and meteorological forcings (amongst others).
  • More flexible 2D gridding in delta regions, river junctions, harbours, intertidal flats and more.
  • High performance by smart use of multicore architectures, and grid computing clusters.

Hello,

I couldn't manage to make my morphological boundary conditions file work properly.

When I start the simulation, I always get the same error: "*** ERROR Unknown boundary "river" in teste.mor". I've already searched the forum and could not found what I am possibly doing wrong.

Could anyone help me?

I've attatched .mor, .bcm and .bnd files.

Ok, I've managed to run it successfully, but I still have a problem.

I got the same error when trying to run the simulation with the parallel script. Isn't it possible to use this kind of boundary condition with paralell script?

Hi

In *.sed file, which keyword did you use in the parameter "SEDTYPE"?

In your *.mdf file, which name or label did you use in the parameter "Namc1"? Is this name, the same that you use in *.bcm file?

Hi Gabriel,

In *.sed file, SEDTYP is "sand". In *.mdf file, Namc1 is "Sedimento", just as written in the *.bcm file.

Hi Lucas,

maybe one of the problems that you have, it is related to the name of the concentration 1; as far as know, the name should start with the word "Sediment", not only "Sedimento". For example, the FLOW manual uses as example the name "Sediment sand".

Please check the 4.5.4 Processes section of the FLOW manual.

Gabriel,

 

I've tried changing the name of the concentration 1, but it is still not working.

The ordinary simulation works either way, but I cannot run it as a MPI parallel based calculation.

I reckon this has something to do with boundaries setup, but I couldn't find it. Or this kind of simulation cannot be performed with parallel techiniques.

Hi everyone.

I am having the same issue, I can use the bcm files in serial runs but it not work in parallel runs.

I get the same error: "*** ERROR Unknown boundary "myboundaryname" in morfl.mor".

The bcm file is not supported for parallel running?

Did you guys get some advances?
