D-Flow Flexible Mesh

D-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) is the new software engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. Together with the familiar curvilinear meshes from Delft3D 4, the unstructured grid can consist of triangles, pentagons (etc.) and 1D channel networks, all in one single mesh. It combines proven technology from the hydrodynamic engines of Delft3D 4 and SOBEK 2 and adds flexible administration, resulting in:

  • Easier 1D-2D-3D model coupling, intuitive setup of boundary conditions and meteorological forcings (amongst others).
  • More flexible 2D gridding in delta regions, river junctions, harbours, intertidal flats and more.
  • High performance by smart use of multicore architectures, and grid computing clusters.
An overview of the current developments can be found here.

The D-Flow FM - team would be delighted if you would participate in discussions on the generation of meshes, the specification of boundary conditions, the running of computations, and all kinds of other relevant topics. Feel free to share your smart questions and/or brilliant solutions!

WAVE GUI problem

Hello,

I have compiled and installed DELFT3D GUI and DELFT3D WAVE module on my Ubuntu 12.04 64 bits System following DELFT3D Installation manual with success using:

Delft3D_GUI.lic.zip
Delft3D-openhydromorpho_waq-4.00.01-02.i386.rpm
Delft3D-tutorial-4.00.01-02.i386.rpm
HASP_SRM_LINUX_3.50_Run-time_Installer_script.tar.gz

Using the installation note for UBuntu 12.04 64 bits, QUICKIN and RGfGRID work well (adding spaces in d3d_menu.ux and correct GPP libraries).

But I can't use WAVE WINDOWS with the GUI (like WAVE INPUT WINDOW). When I click on, nothing ocurre.

I have put the Licence file into the /opt/delft3d/ but I have seen that I don't have flexlm directory to realize lmgrd and lmdown operations.
I tryed to install it but I couldn't.
Could it be the reason of my problem?

The WAVE GUI depend of the WAVE Module or only of the WAVE GUI MODULE?
I tryed to use it with a 32 bits Ubuntu 12.04 system but it's the same.

Can you help me please?

Thanks.
