D-Flow Flexible Mesh

D-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) is the new software engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. Together with the familiar curvilinear meshes from Delft3D 4, the unstructured grid can consist of triangles, pentagons (etc.) and 1D channel networks, all in one single mesh. It combines proven technology from the hydrodynamic engines of Delft3D 4 and SOBEK 2 and adds flexible administration, resulting in:

  • Easier 1D-2D-3D model coupling, intuitive setup of boundary conditions and meteorological forcings (amongst others).
  • More flexible 2D gridding in delta regions, river junctions, harbours, intertidal flats and more.
  • High performance by smart use of multicore architectures, and grid computing clusters.

Hello everyone,
I managed to compile the source code using VS 2017 Community, IFORT 2018 Update 4 and trunk version (Revision 66070) in Win 10 Pro x64. As instructed in readme file, I used “release” and “x64” to build solution (installation log is attached below). After successfully compiling the source code, I tried to run all examples. All examples seem run successfully, except for examples "03_flow-wave" and "04_fluidmud". d_hydro.exe stop working when the simulation start.

d_hydro.exe stop working when "Waiting for communication with Delft3D-FLOW ..." show up, while for example 4, d_hydro.exe stop working when "Part VIII - Start Simulation..." show up. I already tried to replace "StreamType=SharedMem" to "StreamType=ASCII" in dioconfig.ini file (from this reference, but the problems still appear. Any suggestion will be appreciated.
