D-Flow Flexible Mesh

D-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) is the new software engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. Together with the familiar curvilinear meshes from Delft3D 4, the unstructured grid can consist of triangles, pentagons (etc.) and 1D channel networks, all in one single mesh. It combines proven technology from the hydrodynamic engines of Delft3D 4 and SOBEK 2 and adds flexible administration, resulting in:

  • Easier 1D-2D-3D model coupling, intuitive setup of boundary conditions and meteorological forcings (amongst others).
  • More flexible 2D gridding in delta regions, river junctions, harbours, intertidal flats and more.
  • High performance by smart use of multicore architectures, and grid computing clusters.

Hi !

I have made IHO tidal stations as my observation points. Except for two stations all other stations shows the wave like changes in water level.
Pondicherry and Cuddalore are two nearby stations and cyclone Thane in 2011 made its landfall between these two points.

I had tried a DD simulation coupling Flow with Wav. These stations are in the centre of the inner domain near the coast
Whats weird is that the water level in Pondicherry seems to been constantly very high at around 5.25m even before the cyclone was in the far open ocean. there is no spinup also emoticon

the older simulations of flow with wav (w/o DD) never showed such discrepancy. I have attached those outputs too.
