D-Flow Flexible Mesh

D-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) is the new software engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. Together with the familiar curvilinear meshes from Delft3D 4, the unstructured grid can consist of triangles, pentagons (etc.) and 1D channel networks, all in one single mesh. It combines proven technology from the hydrodynamic engines of Delft3D 4 and SOBEK 2 and adds flexible administration, resulting in:

  • Easier 1D-2D-3D model coupling, intuitive setup of boundary conditions and meteorological forcings (amongst others).
  • More flexible 2D gridding in delta regions, river junctions, harbours, intertidal flats and more.
  • High performance by smart use of multicore architectures, and grid computing clusters.

Hello,

I have just recently begun to use Delft3d for the purposes of FLOW and DELWAQ. So far I have not been able to build successfully and with VB2010 and Intel XE Composer 2013 get a VB output of:

========== Build: 28 succeeded, 49 failed, 0 up-to-date, 8 skipped ==========

Using VB 2012 and Intel XE 2013 I can reduce this to 5 errors but I have not seen anyone use VB 2012 successfully on this forum so I downgraded to VB2010.

For source code I have tried tags 2399, 2703, 2869, 3008
I have tried trunk
I have tried https://svn.oss.deltares.nl/repos/delft3d/tags/4.00.07.0892
I build using the d_hydro_open_source_vs2010_intel13 solution every time

And all of them have many many build errors. Is it possible I am doing something obviously wrong or missing a key element of the build process?
My steps are as follows:
Use tortoise SVN to connect to a tag/trunk
open d_hydro_open_source_vs2010_intel13 using VB2010
Build solution using release
Output=
========== Build: 28 succeeded, 49 failed, 0 up-to-date, 8 skipped ==========

Any suggestions on how to build successfully or links to other threads where this has been addressed?

Hi Adri,

I was able to resolve the issue by switching from a Windows 8 machine to a windows 7 machine. Everything compiled properly.
