Quickin as arcmap plugin - D-Flow Flexible Mesh - Delft3D
intro story D-Flow FM
D-Flow Flexible MeshD-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) is the new software engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. Together with the familiar curvilinear meshes from Delft3D 4, the unstructured grid can consist of triangles, pentagons (etc.) and 1D channel networks, all in one single mesh. It combines proven technology from the hydrodynamic engines of Delft3D 4 and SOBEK 2 and adds flexible administration, resulting in:
An overview of the current developments can be found here. The D-Flow FM - team would be delighted if you would participate in discussions on the generation of meshes, the specification of boundary conditions, the running of computations, and all kinds of other relevant topics. Quickin as arcmap plugin

Dear all,
I am trying to use the quickin as a plugin in ArcMap 10.1. If from Arcmap I directly do customize -> customize mode -> add from file and browse and select quickin.dll it says "cant load type library from specific type". This is probably because the dll is not registered, so I tried to follow the instruction here http://support.esri.com/en/knowledgebase/techarticles/detail/37639 . The latter link suggests to use ESRIRegAsm.exe to register it. I typed from command line:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ArcGIS\bin\ESRIRegAsm" /p
esktop "C:\Programs\Delft3D_openSOU\w32\plugins\bin\quickin.dll"
and I obtain the following error:
Registration failed.Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\Programs\Delft3D_openSOU\w32\plugins\bin\quickin.dll' or one of its dependencies. The module was supposed to contain an assembly manifest.
Any suggestion on how to make it work?
thanks
Alberto

Hi Alberto,
Delft3D version 4.01.00.rc.09 contains a file named "install_ohmw_4.01.000.rc.09.pdf". That file contains a description on registering the quickin dll.
This Delft3D version can be obtained by following the instructions at this site.

Adri

Thanks Adri,
I obtained Delft3D version 4.01.00.rc.09. I followed the instruction on the pdf and I set the environmental variable WL_PLUGINS_HOME to C:\Programs\delft3d_ohmw_4.01.00.rc.09\win32\plugins by using setx (double checked by rightclicking on computer). I then registered successfully by using the windows 64bit batch file. However, When I open Arcmap 10.1 and I go to customize -> customize mode -> add from file and browse and select quickin.dll it still says "cant load type library from specific type". Same problem if I select rgfgrid.dll or MfeArcGis10.UI.dll. I also rebooted but nothing changed.
Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestion on how to make it work?
thanks
A.

I am having the same issue. Running the Register_Arcgis10_MFE_win64.bat file as suggested in the installation instructions causes "Delft3D-GISPlugins" to show up in the Customize --> Toolbars menu, but when the box is checked, only a blank toolbar appears at the top of my ArcMap window. I get similar errors to Alberto when I try adding any of the other dll files. I am running ArcMap 10.2.

Hi,Adri,
I am having the same issue. I am trying to use the RGFGRID as a plugin in ArcMap 10.0.
Running the Register_Arcgis10_MFE_win32.bat file as suggested in the installation instructions Delft3D version 4.01.00.rc.09.
and I obtain the following error message:
"Can not load dll, see window title".
This dll is "remoteolv.dll",and when the box is checked, only a blank toolbar appears at the top of my ArcMap window.
Any suggestion on how to make it work?
thanks

Dear Yilian Chen
We will look to the problem of not showing the icons in the extension-toolbar of ArcGIS. Probably it has something to do with (missing) dll's, but at this moment we do not known which one.

Hello Delft3D-Team,
The problem still appears to exist within the current version (delft3d_ohmw_4.01.01.rc.03, ArcMap 10.1). Did you already found a solution with which the plugins can be used.
Regards,
Tobias
