D-Flow Flexible Mesh

D-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) is the new software engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. Together with the familiar curvilinear meshes from Delft3D 4, the unstructured grid can consist of triangles, pentagons (etc.) and 1D channel networks, all in one single mesh. It combines proven technology from the hydrodynamic engines of Delft3D 4 and SOBEK 2 and adds flexible administration, resulting in:

  • Easier 1D-2D-3D model coupling, intuitive setup of boundary conditions and meteorological forcings (amongst others).
  • More flexible 2D gridding in delta regions, river junctions, harbours, intertidal flats and more.
  • High performance by smart use of multicore architectures, and grid computing clusters.

Space varying wind and MPI

Hi,

I am getting an error when using a space varying wind (on an equidistant grid) on MPI. If I start the simulation with more than 1 processors, Delft3D stops and displays an error saying - meteo grid is smaller than computational grid. A part of the output is shown below:

*** MESSAGE Wind (U component) specified on a separate equidistant grid
*** MESSAGE Wind (V component) specified on a separate equidistant grid
*** MESSAGE Air pressure specified on a separate equidistant grid
*** ERROR Flow point outside global meteo grid x,y,: 18.4 21.7


The simulation runs perfectly when I run it on my computer or with 1 processor.

Can somebody help me please?

Hi Rohit,

I don't expect this error in recent versions. What revision are you using?
Can you post your input files on this forum? Ideally a simplified, version of your input files. With what number of partitions does the problem show up?
