D-Flow Flexible Mesh

D-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) is the new software engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. Together with the familiar curvilinear meshes from Delft3D 4, the unstructured grid can consist of triangles, pentagons (etc.) and 1D channel networks, all in one single mesh. It combines proven technology from the hydrodynamic engines of Delft3D 4 and SOBEK 2 and adds flexible administration, resulting in:

  • Easier 1D-2D-3D model coupling, intuitive setup of boundary conditions and meteorological forcings (amongst others).
  • More flexible 2D gridding in delta regions, river junctions, harbours, intertidal flats and more.
  • High performance by smart use of multicore architectures, and grid computing clusters.

Adding formula in morphology instead of Default formula

Dear Altruist

I am working with morphology (Old version Delft3D 3.28.50.01) and the default formula for sediment transport is van Rijn.
But I want to use Engelund-Hansen formula. Suggest me how can I do that.

Hi Adri,

Thanks for your reply. I have seen already B.9.3 Appendix. In there it is mentioned that you must create a sediment transport input file <*.tra>. Could you please tell
how can I create this file?

Add to your mdf-file, the lin:
TraFrm= #flume.tra#


Use a text-editor to create an ASCII file named "flume.tra", with the following contents:
1     IFORM
#1 Engelund Hansen
0.6
0.08

Thanks for your reply and sorry for being late in response. I did it as you said but failed. Actually I don't know how to proceed with the "flume.tra" file.
I will be grateful if you kindly help the with the next steps to run the model with Englund Hansen equation.
