Delft Dashboard tidemodels - D-Flow Flexible Mesh - Delft3D
intro story D-Flow FM
D-Flow Flexible MeshD-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) is the new software engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. Together with the familiar curvilinear meshes from Delft3D 4, the unstructured grid can consist of triangles, pentagons (etc.) and 1D channel networks, all in one single mesh. It combines proven technology from the hydrodynamic engines of Delft3D 4 and SOBEK 2 and adds flexible administration, resulting in:
An overview of the current developments can be found here. The D-Flow FM - team would be delighted if you would participate in discussions on the generation of meshes, the specification of boundary conditions, the running of computations, and all kinds of other relevant topics. Feel free to share your smart questions and/or brilliant solutions!

Hello, I have recently started working with Delft Dashboard to generate files for Delft3D flow/waves however when I click on 'make boundary conditions' in Model Maker Quick Mode, MATLAB gives the following error:
Error using nc_varget_java (line 31)
Could not open 'https://opendap.deltares.nl/thredds/catalog/opendap/deltares/delftdashboard/tidemodels/tpxo72.nc' with java backend.
I have updated the SVN to ensure that I have the most up-to-date version of Delft Dashboard. Could something be wrong with the xml file or links provided in the xml file? or could the websites be down? I've added the contents of the xml file in case something in it needs editing.<?xml version="1.0"?>

Hi Lesley,
You probably already have an answer for to this. The server for the tide database was down a couple weeks ago. I dropped Delft an email and they have since fixed the issue, but you do need to update (redownload from the SVN) your dashboard from OpenEarth tools.
Hope this helps, Christian

Maybe it is because of network problem. I tried both Txpo8.0 and 7.2 today in Dashboard, and accessed both successfully.
Maybe just try another time?

Hi Raymond Rios,
Today (03/18/2021) I accessed the Delft Dashboard Tide Models however, this error shows:
opendap.dap.DAP2Exception: Method failed:HTTP/1.1 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable on URL= http://opendap.deltares.nl/thredds/dodsC/opendap/deltares/delftdashboard/tidemodels/tpxo62.nc.dds
When was the last time you accessed Delft Dashboard Tide Models? Can you access it now?
Your help would be very much appreciated.
Laurice

I have found that sometimes waiting a while (less then a day tho) fixes the connection errors. Also, have you tried using different network?
Make sure that DelftDashboard code is updated using SVN. Click the update repository button. If it fails/times out, please “clean up” the directory with your svn tool, and try again until you get a success message.
