D-Flow Flexible Mesh

D-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) is the new software engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. Together with the familiar curvilinear meshes from Delft3D 4, the unstructured grid can consist of triangles, pentagons (etc.) and 1D channel networks, all in one single mesh. It combines proven technology from the hydrodynamic engines of Delft3D 4 and SOBEK 2 and adds flexible administration, resulting in:

  • Easier 1D-2D-3D model coupling, intuitive setup of boundary conditions and meteorological forcings (amongst others).
  • More flexible 2D gridding in delta regions, river junctions, harbours, intertidal flats and more.
  • High performance by smart use of multicore architectures, and grid computing clusters.

Error Compiling Delft3D Linux "cannot have a deferred shape"

I managed to get an updated gnu compiler environment installed on the system where we're trying to build delft3d -- this gives gcc and gfortran version 4.72.

then i built mpich so that it would be based on these compilers.

but even w/ this updated compiler environment i get the following error during the compilation of delft3d (configure seemed to go OK):

i don't know what to do about this build error... online searches don't seem to lead to anything useful, though i'll try to do some more checking.

i removed the 2 lines that were causing the problem from

src/engines/part/packages/kernel_f/src/partur.f90

and the build seems to be proceeding. i think these 2 lines are typos from older code or something. ?????

it really seems like partur.f90 is foo-barred.

Any suggestion??
