D-Flow Flexible Mesh

D-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) is the new software engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. Together with the familiar curvilinear meshes from Delft3D 4, the unstructured grid can consist of triangles, pentagons (etc.) and 1D channel networks, all in one single mesh. It combines proven technology from the hydrodynamic engines of Delft3D 4 and SOBEK 2 and adds flexible administration, resulting in:

  • Easier 1D-2D-3D model coupling, intuitive setup of boundary conditions and meteorological forcings (amongst others).
  • More flexible 2D gridding in delta regions, river junctions, harbours, intertidal flats and more.
  • High performance by smart use of multicore architectures, and grid computing clusters.

Wave computation failed

Hi

I'm currently trying to set-up a model for the study of Bars Dynamic, mainly cause by storm (wave). I try to get a finer grid for my online wave simulation, but the simulation failed each time.

Right now I use a large grid rectangular grid (100mx100m) in which I nested a finer retangular grid ( 40mx 40m) and finaly I hope to get a second nested grid, the same resolution that I got in my hydrodynamics simulation which is about 10mx10m.

The simulation always stop and the only diagnostic file that contain a error in the swan-diag. The message is "the wave height is to different >0.1 Hs".

What show I use to run a complet simulation?
