intro story D-Flow FM

D-Flow Flexible Mesh

D-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) is the new software engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. Together with the familiar curvilinear meshes from Delft3D 4, the unstructured grid can consist of triangles, pentagons (etc.) and 1D channel networks, all in one single mesh. It combines proven technology from the hydrodynamic engines of Delft3D 4 and SOBEK 2 and adds flexible administration, resulting in:

  • Easier 1D-2D-3D model coupling, intuitive setup of boundary conditions and meteorological forcings (amongst others).
  • More flexible 2D gridding in delta regions, river junctions, harbours, intertidal flats and more.
  • High performance by smart use of multicore architectures, and grid computing clusters.
An overview of the current developments can be found here.

The D-Flow FM - team would be delighted if you would participate in discussions on the generation of meshes, the specification of boundary conditions, the running of computations, and all kinds of other relevant topics. Feel free to share your smart questions and/or brilliant solutions!

Hi all,

I'm encountering following build errors with release version, Win32. I have VS 2010 integrated with Intel parallel studio XE 2015 on a windows 8.1 machine. I did run with this source code: delft3d - Revision 4633: /trunk. I tried compiling with latest versions of source code given in the forum archives. But unfortunately, some of the following errors still persist

1) LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'libifcoremt.lib'
2) mt.exe : general error c10100b1: Failed to load file "C:\delft3d_repository_check\src\engines_gpl\part\bin\Debug\delpar_intel13.exe". The system cannot find the file specified.
3) mt.exe : general error c10100b1: Failed to load file "C:\delft3d_repository_check\src\tools_gpl\mormerge\bin\Debug\mormerge_vs2010.exe". The system cannot find the file specified.

Hi Satya,

Delft3D is not prepared to be compiled with Intel 15. You can modify the project files yourself, See this thread and the thread referred to over there.

Please report at this forum your findings.

Thanks.

Regards,

Adri
