D-Flow Flexible Mesh

D-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) is the new software engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. Together with the familiar curvilinear meshes from Delft3D 4, the unstructured grid can consist of triangles, pentagons (etc.) and 1D channel networks, all in one single mesh. It combines proven technology from the hydrodynamic engines of Delft3D 4 and SOBEK 2 and adds flexible administration, resulting in:

  • Easier 1D-2D-3D model coupling, intuitive setup of boundary conditions and meteorological forcings (amongst others).
  • More flexible 2D gridding in delta regions, river junctions, harbours, intertidal flats and more.
  • High performance by smart use of multicore architectures, and grid computing clusters.

Dear all,

I want to run a simple non-stationary wave simulation about 24hrs as a primilary test for a larger model set-up. Within the time frame section of the wave module I definied 24 hourly timesteps for the output of the results at each timestep of the simulation. After that I have choosen non-stationary computational mode in the output parmeters section, setting the time interval and time step equal to 60min. Finally I crosschecked the option write and use hotstart file and output for computational grids. Beside the calculation results for the computational grid I wanted to store the results of each calculation time step along prefined curves which I set up in the output curves section. Anyhow the output for each timestep is only written to the resultfile wavm-...dat. The output of the curves is overwritten each time step so that at the end of the whole simulation only the output of the last time step compuation remains. Does someone has an idea how the results of each time step can be saved at each timestep consecutively and not to be overwritten?
