DELWAQ is the engine of the D-Water Quality and D-Ecology programmes of the Delft3D suite. It is based on a rich library from which relevant substances and processes can be selected to quickly put water and sediment quality models together.

The processes library covers many aspects of water quality and ecology, from basic tracers, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, organic matter, inorganic suspended matter, heavy metals, bacteria and organic micro-pollutants, to complex algae and macrophyte dynamics. High performance solvers enable the simulation of long periods, often required to capture the full cycles of the processes being modelled.

The finite volume approach underlying DELWAQ allows it to be coupled to both the structured grid hydrodynamics of the current Delft3D-FLOW engine and the upcoming D-Flow Flexible Mesh engine (1D-2D-3D) of the Delft3D Flexible Mesh Suite (or even other models such as TELEMAC).

Projection system and Coriolis parameter

Hi everyone!

I've been running a very large model in projected UTM zone.
And I wonder that if the model is too large, large enough to be projected in 2 of more UTM zones, the output computations that lies outside of the selected UTM can be wrong.

The question are:
1* Is it bad to run a large model on UTM when the zone of interest is placed over 2 or more UTM zones?
2* In my case, Is it better to run the model on WGS84 instead of UTM?
3* When is better to use other cordinate system rather than WGS84?
4* In large UTM models, do I have to activate the "filcio" option on the MDF?
5* How do I activate the "filcio" flag to take into account the variable Corilis parameter? (I tried as is specified in the manual, value range between 86°S & 86°N latitude, but I still get the output warning that my model is placed near the equator)
