intro story DELWAQ


DELWAQ is the engine of the D-Water Quality and D-Ecology programmes of the Delft3D suite. It is based on a rich library from which relevant substances and processes can be selected to quickly put water and sediment quality models together.

The processes library covers many aspects of water quality and ecology, from basic tracers, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, organic matter, inorganic suspended matter, heavy metals, bacteria and organic micro-pollutants, to complex algae and macrophyte dynamics. High performance solvers enable the simulation of long periods, often required to capture the full cycles of the processes being modelled.

The finite volume approach underlying DELWAQ allows it to be coupled to both the structured grid hydrodynamics of the current Delft3D-FLOW engine and the upcoming D-Flow Flexible Mesh engine (1D-2D-3D) of the Delft3D Flexible Mesh Suite (or even other models such as TELEMAC).

I study coupling system delft3d-flow, sediment, delwaq.

In delft3d-flow, user can withdrawal&return from discharge function.

In DELWAQ coupling system, can i use delft3d-flow withdrawal&return process???

How to application this function in delwaq system??

I'd like to know this function inlet-outlet for DELWAQ.
I've read the title "Automated Intake-Outlet coupling" and "E.9 Example source code delwaq_user_inlet_outlet" in User Manual.
But I don't know what I have to do.

Show me the example input files or model set, please.

If you define an inlet-outlet combination, you should be able to see that back automaticly in the WAQ user interface. In the inp-file, the locations will be named INLET01/OUTLET01, INLET02/OUTLET02 etc if you use multiple loactions. These will be recognised by the default user waste load pluging that you build with delwaq. Look into the waq_plugin_wasteload project in Visual Studio, or into \src\engines_gpl\waq\packages\waq_plugin_wasteload\src\delwaq_user_wasteloads.f.

By default WAQ will also look for the existence of a file named inloutl.dat, in which you could optionally specify other names to be coupled inlet outlets in a fixed format 2 times 20 character list: '(2a20)'.
