intro story DELWAQ
DELWAQDELWAQ is the engine of the D-Water Quality and D-Ecology programmes of the Delft3D suite. It is based on a rich library from which relevant substances and processes can be selected to quickly put water and sediment quality models together. The processes library covers many aspects of water quality and ecology, from basic tracers, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, organic matter, inorganic suspended matter, heavy metals, bacteria and organic micro-pollutants, to complex algae and macrophyte dynamics. High performance solvers enable the simulation of long periods, often required to capture the full cycles of the processes being modelled. The finite volume approach underlying DELWAQ allows it to be coupled to both the structured grid hydrodynamics of the current Delft3D-FLOW engine and the upcoming D-Flow Flexible Mesh engine (1D-2D-3D) of the Delft3D Flexible Mesh Suite (or even other models such as TELEMAC). 'DELWAQ in open source' is our invitation to all leading experts to collaborate in further development and research in the field of water quality, ecology and morphology using Delft3D. Feel free to post your DELWAQ related questions or comments in this dedicated forum space. If you are new to DELWAQ, the tutorial (in the user manual) is a good place to start. "Edit Depth" does not Work for Spherical Coordinates
Youngling Posts: 5 Join Date: 5/23/12 Recent PostsI am trying to edit the depth values on grids with Spherical Coordinates in QUICKIN. However, by clicking on a grid point, no window opens for further changes. The View --> Depth is selected as Coloured Dots. It seems that everything works pretty well on Cartesian Coordinates though. Any suggestions on what might be wrong here? Is it possible to still edit depth values within Spherical Coordinates?
Any comments welcome!
Best regards,
Angang

Thanks.

Jedi Knight Posts: 107 Join Date: 11/9/12 Recent PostsTo edit depth values on a grid with spherical coordinates try the following combination:
Select "Edit Depth". Than press the Tab key while the cursor is on a grid point. By pressing the + - keyboard keys change the chosen depth value. You can also delete a depth point pressing D (it would have the -999 value).
Cheers

I have had this problem in the past.
In my version of QUICKIN, I have an option to get around this by going to, View --> Spherical Co-ordinates , and selecting the option 'Plane Co-ordinates'.
This allows you to edit depths in the usual way, and can be toggled back once you are finished.
I hope that works,
Cheers,
Jack
