DELWAQ

DELWAQ is the engine of the D-Water Quality and D-Ecology programmes of the Delft3D suite. It is based on a rich library from which relevant substances and processes can be selected to quickly put water and sediment quality models together.

The processes library covers many aspects of water quality and ecology, from basic tracers, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, organic matter, inorganic suspended matter, heavy metals, bacteria and organic micro-pollutants, to complex algae and macrophyte dynamics. High performance solvers enable the simulation of long periods, often required to capture the full cycles of the processes being modelled.

The finite volume approach underlying DELWAQ allows it to be coupled to both the structured grid hydrodynamics of the current Delft3D-FLOW engine and the upcoming D-Flow Flexible Mesh engine (1D-2D-3D) of the Delft3D Flexible Mesh Suite (or even other models such as TELEMAC).

Cot Out Area in DIDO and open boundary in D-waq

Cot Out Area in DIDO and open boundary in D-waq

I have run a hydrodynamic model for a big area. Now I want run the water quality simulation in a smaller area. I find there is a item of "Cut Out Area" in DIDO. I wonder if the item can help me cut off the area which I do not concerned from the result of Delft3D-Flow. However, there is little description about this function in the user's manual. Do any one know how to use it or you know the way to realize my goal.

Moreover, I also find I cannot modify the open boundaries in D-waq. All the open boundary must derive from flow simulation result. once I try to modify them in WAQ input window, it prompted  a warning saying the default boundary is reset. In the simulation, I used inline couple and the input files for WAQ were output from Delft3d-Flow directly.  Could any one tell me how to modify the open boundary conditions in WAQ input?
