intro story DELWAQ

DELWAQ

DELWAQ is the engine of the D-Water Quality and D-Ecology programmes of the Delft3D suite. It is based on a rich library from which relevant substances and processes can be selected to quickly put water and sediment quality models together.

The processes library covers many aspects of water quality and ecology, from basic tracers, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, organic matter, inorganic suspended matter, heavy metals, bacteria and organic micro-pollutants, to complex algae and macrophyte dynamics. High performance solvers enable the simulation of long periods, often required to capture the full cycles of the processes being modelled.

The finite volume approach underlying DELWAQ allows it to be coupled to both the structured grid hydrodynamics of the current Delft3D-FLOW engine and the upcoming D-Flow Flexible Mesh engine (1D-2D-3D) of the Delft3D Flexible Mesh Suite (or even other models such as TELEMAC).

'DELWAQ in open source' is our invitation to all leading experts to collaborate in further development and research in the field of water quality, ecology and morphology using Delft3D. Feel free to post your DELWAQ related questions or comments in this dedicated forum space. If you are new to DELWAQ, the tutorial (in the user manual) is a good place to start. A list of DELWAQ related publications is available here.

Compiling error in windows 10

Hi, I am trying to compile Delft3d on windows 10, using visual studio 2017, intel fortran compiler 2018, and python 2.7, but I am receiving the massage at the end of build process that I got 6 failed and 4 skipped. Please see attached the build file for more information. I have the bin folder created but I guess it is not complete. I appreciate any help. Thanks,

Hi Sahar,

The installation procedure of VisualStudio with Intel Fortran is delicate. Can you try to delete everything and install again:

1. Install Visual Studio

2. Activate additional Visual Studio modules, see prerequisites

3. Restart your computer

4. Install Intel Visual Fortran

5. Restart your computer

Can you post in this forum the list of installed products: In Visual Studio -> Menu -> Help -> About Microsoft Visual Studio, click the "Copy Info" button at the right and paste it in a text editor.

It seems that you tried to compile several times and posted the last trial. Can you start with a clean checkout of the source code, try to compile that and post the full output?

Thanks.

Regards,

Adri

I'm just replying here to bump the thread up in priority a bit! I've tried to help sahar resolve this, but I'm not an expert at compiling myself.

Hi Sahar,

According to "installed_visual.rtf" you have IFORT_COMPILER19 installed, but the build environment is searching for IFORT_COMPILER16. Did you execute the Python script "prepare_sln.py", selecting IFORT_COMPILER19?

Some problems seems to be related to missing write permission. Can you checkout the source code on your D-drive instead of your C-drive? Or create a new directory at the top level of the C-drive and be sure that you have full read-write access in that directory.

Regards,

Adri
