DELWAQ

DELWAQ is the engine of the D-Water Quality and D-Ecology programmes of the Delft3D suite. It is based on a rich library from which relevant substances and processes can be selected to quickly put water and sediment quality models together.

The processes library covers many aspects of water quality and ecology, from basic tracers, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, organic matter, inorganic suspended matter, heavy metals, bacteria and organic micro-pollutants, to complex algae and macrophyte dynamics. High performance solvers enable the simulation of long periods, often required to capture the full cycles of the processes being modelled.

The finite volume approach underlying DELWAQ allows it to be coupled to both the structured grid hydrodynamics of the current Delft3D-FLOW engine and the upcoming D-Flow Flexible Mesh engine (1D-2D-3D) of the Delft3D Flexible Mesh Suite (or even other models such as TELEMAC).

Nesting FLOW/WAVE with Dashboard - WAVE boundary information missing?

I am nesting a coarser FLOW/WAVE grid into a finer one. I'm using Dashboard for the nesting. When I run the finer model, the wave information at the boundary provided by the coarser model does not seem to make it into the finer model. The model does not crash, but there is little-to-no wave energy inside the finer nest. I am running a hurricane simulation, so the waves should be a good size. The history file of the coarser model (along the nested boundary, and which is used for the nest information for the finer model) does capture this energy, and that should be the input condition for WAVE for the finer model. The surge and currents are passed through to the finer model, and the .mdw file does have "use but don't extend" enacted. Any thoughts? All runs are using nonstationary mode.

Is there a limit on the number of boundary points for nesting that DelftDashboard is able to write?
