DELWAQ

DELWAQ is the engine of the D-Water Quality and D-Ecology programmes of the Delft3D suite. It is based on a rich library from which relevant substances and processes can be selected to quickly put water and sediment quality models together.

The processes library covers many aspects of water quality and ecology, from basic tracers, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, organic matter, inorganic suspended matter, heavy metals, bacteria and organic micro-pollutants, to complex algae and macrophyte dynamics. High performance solvers enable the simulation of long periods, often required to capture the full cycles of the processes being modelled.

The finite volume approach underlying DELWAQ allows it to be coupled to both the structured grid hydrodynamics of the current Delft3D-FLOW engine and the upcoming D-Flow Flexible Mesh engine (1D-2D-3D) of the Delft3D Flexible Mesh Suite (or even other models such as TELEMAC).

Dear,

I am new to water quality modelling. I finally thought I had set up a Water quality model for my case but it failed to run on Waq (2) with the result below:

Look at this line:

Could it be your monitoring file (IMBwq.mon) was already open ? Do you get this error every time?

I figured it was the .mon file and deleted it. I started afresh but the simulation can not go beyond below:

That's the *.lsp file, I need the *.lst one.

You can attach files by clicking the attach files button, just next to publish, makes it easier to read the thread.

Will have to run it myself to see what is going on.

Can you zip your input file (*.inp) and com-* files together and post them here ?
If the file size is too large, let me know.

Hi Mary,

Looks like your input is somehow confusing Delwaq...

Try to start simple and gradually build up your model. Now it's kinda hard to "debug" it.

Did you run a simple continuity simulation? How did that go?

Thanks Chris for your suggestions. I rebuilt the model afresh starting with simple processes and now generally upgrading it. It is now running although I still have to make adjustments in the processes.
