intro story DELWAQ

DELWAQ is the engine of the D-Water Quality and D-Ecology programmes of the Delft3D suite. It is based on a rich library from which relevant substances and processes can be selected to quickly put water and sediment quality models together.

The processes library covers many aspects of water quality and ecology, from basic tracers, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, organic matter, inorganic suspended matter, heavy metals, bacteria and organic micro-pollutants, to complex algae and macrophyte dynamics. High performance solvers enable the simulation of long periods, often required to capture the full cycles of the processes being modelled.

The finite volume approach underlying DELWAQ allows it to be coupled to both the structured grid hydrodynamics of the current Delft3D-FLOW engine and the upcoming D-Flow Flexible Mesh engine (1D-2D-3D) of the Delft3D Flexible Mesh Suite (or even other models such as TELEMAC).

'DELWAQ in open source' is our invitation to all leading experts to collaborate in further development and research in the field of water quality, ecology and morphology using Delft3D. Feel free to post your DELWAQ related questions or comments in this dedicated forum space. If you are new to DELWAQ, the tutorial (in the user manual) is a good place to start. A list of DELWAQ related publications is available here.

Understand how you can achieve your GoalGoal 1:You are curious about Scrum, and you want to learn:
  • Go through online videos available at Scrum Alliance or Leanpitch Youtube or any credible source.
  • Attend meetups like Agility Thinking meetups in India.
  • Attend our online Spirit of Scrum eLearning course.
  • Interact with one of the Scrum Masters in your organization
Goal 2:If you want your profile to be shortlisted, then look for what kind of certificates the recruiters mention in their job posting. CSM gets listed quite often than PSM. Please remember that you can get a step inside the organization with a certificate; you need the skills to succeed. So if you just have this goal today, maybe you want to revisit that goal.Goal 3:If your intent is learning, then don't choose a certificate, choose the trainer. There are good trainers from Scrum Alliance as well as Scrum.org.Some Scrum Alliance (CSTs) trainers work with you to validate your learning, run small workshops and have built continuous learning platforms, some CSTs just train for two days with 60-80 people in the room selling at a throwaway price and give you a certificate at the end of day 2.Similarly, some Professional Scrum Trainer (PSTs) are practitioners and willing to go the extra mile to help you in your journey, and some Scrum.org trainers Professional Scrum Trainer (PSTs) optimize the class for test and be done with it. Conduct use interview
