intro story DELWAQ

DELWAQ

DELWAQ is the engine of the D-Water Quality and D-Ecology programmes of the Delft3D suite. It is based on a rich library from which relevant substances and processes can be selected to quickly put water and sediment quality models together.

The processes library covers many aspects of water quality and ecology, from basic tracers, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, organic matter, inorganic suspended matter, heavy metals, bacteria and organic micro-pollutants, to complex algae and macrophyte dynamics. High performance solvers enable the simulation of long periods, often required to capture the full cycles of the processes being modelled.

The finite volume approach underlying DELWAQ allows it to be coupled to both the structured grid hydrodynamics of the current Delft3D-FLOW engine and the upcoming D-Flow Flexible Mesh engine (1D-2D-3D) of the Delft3D Flexible Mesh Suite (or even other models such as TELEMAC).

'DELWAQ in open source' is our invitation to all leading experts to collaborate in further development and research in the field of water quality, ecology and morphology using Delft3D. Feel free to post your DELWAQ related questions or comments in this dedicated forum space. If you are new to DELWAQ, the tutorial (in the user manual) is a good place to start. A list of DELWAQ related publications is available here.

Problem with compiling tag version 9180

Hi!
I am trying to compile tag version 9180 under Windows that I downloaded from your website. I'm using Visual Studio 2015 and Intel Fortran compiler 2018. Based on discussions in the forums, these two versions should work well together. I have tried to compile this tag version a few times now, but I keep having the same problem every time. What happens is that Visual Studio appears to freeze after this message pops up:
Skipped Build: Project: flow2d3d_openda, Configuration: Release x64 ------
I have made sure to clear out src\bin between runs.
I have attached the information from the output window in a text file. Any ideas what causes Visual Studio to freeze? Is there a problem with flow2d3d_openda.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael

Edit: I have added the result from my last run. I made sure to download a fresh version of the source code before running this one. On the last line it states that "Project not selected to build for this solution configuration".
Final Edit: I was able to compile tag version 68026 without any problems using VS 2017 and Fortran Compiler 2018. I incorrectly thought that version 9180 was the latest version.
