DELWAQ

DELWAQ is the engine of the D-Water Quality and D-Ecology programmes of the Delft3D suite. It is based on a rich library from which relevant substances and processes can be selected to quickly put water and sediment quality models together.

The processes library covers many aspects of water quality and ecology, from basic tracers, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, organic matter, inorganic suspended matter, heavy metals, bacteria and organic micro-pollutants, to complex algae and macrophyte dynamics. High performance solvers enable the simulation of long periods, often required to capture the full cycles of the processes being modelled.

The finite volume approach underlying DELWAQ allows it to be coupled to both the structured grid hydrodynamics of the current Delft3D-FLOW engine and the upcoming D-Flow Flexible Mesh engine (1D-2D-3D) of the Delft3D Flexible Mesh Suite (or even other models such as TELEMAC).

error in output of some substances

error in output of some substances

Hi all,

I am having problems in retrieving some fluxes in bloom simulations. Basically what I am after is the "production of algae type" and "uptake of carbon"
but in the .lsp file i get these warnings:

"dProdAlg" and "dCUpt" are the active processes.

the warnings i get are

output [dProdAlg ] not located
output [dCUpt ] not located

in the manuals these terms appear in BLOOM
but the rest appear in BLOOM_P

What is the deal here? Any ideas?

Ultimately I am after gc/m3/d production rates, not gc/m2/d "fpptot" output

Hi Veli,

It seems you requested dProdAlg and dCUpt as output items. This does not work because those are fluxes. Fluxes are only used internally and not available as output. Some fluxes, however, get copied to an output item to make them available. fPPTot is such an example, summing all the various dProdAlg fluxes.

Having individual dProdAlg fluxes available as output involves some modifications in the code. Fortunately, fluxes are listed in the balance output, so you could generate a balance file (*.prn) to inspect the contribution of those fluxes. Don't forget to uncheck the "Lump processes" option.
