DELWAQ

DELWAQ is the engine of the D-Water Quality and D-Ecology programmes of the Delft3D suite. It is based on a rich library from which relevant substances and processes can be selected to quickly put water and sediment quality models together.

The processes library covers many aspects of water quality and ecology, from basic tracers, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, organic matter, inorganic suspended matter, heavy metals, bacteria and organic micro-pollutants, to complex algae and macrophyte dynamics. High performance solvers enable the simulation of long periods, often required to capture the full cycles of the processes being modelled.

The finite volume approach underlying DELWAQ allows it to be coupled to both the structured grid hydrodynamics of the current Delft3D-FLOW engine and the upcoming D-Flow Flexible Mesh engine (1D-2D-3D) of the Delft3D Flexible Mesh Suite (or even other models such as TELEMAC).

Plots not showing correctly from D Water Quality User Manual tutorial

Hello,

I've followed through the tutorial from chapter 7 of the D Water Quality User Manual. When generating the Plots from the session file "tut_fti_waq.ssn", the three plots "Map Concentration E. Coli, 2x2", "Inorganic matter IM1, 2x1" and "WAQ parameters, 2x2" show blank axes and no results (see attached image).

The other two plots "Time-series E. Coli, 2x1" and "balances, 2x2" show up correctly. I'm using "delft3d_ohmw_4.01.01.rc.03" compiled on Windows.

Any idea why this might be occurring? Would appreciate any help with this.

Hi Matthew,

Can you visualize the map file using Quickplot instead?

If not, check your lst file for any warnings or errors.

Hi Christophe,

Thanks for your reply! I can visualise the map files using Quickplot, so that's a good enough workaround for now. Is it possible to view the SSN files associated with the tutorial in Quickplot?

The ssn file is specific to GPP and is a way to save predefined plots.
It does not contain any simulation results.

QUICKPLOT does not support ssn files but allows you to records macro's.
