Setting up DELPAR (D-Water Quality Particle Tracking) simulation from GUI - Delwaq - Delft3D

intro story DELWAQ
DELWAQDELWAQ is the engine of the D-Water Quality and D-Ecology programmes of the Delft3D suite. It is based on a rich library from which relevant substances and processes can be selected to quickly put water and sediment quality models together. The processes library covers many aspects of water quality and ecology, from basic tracers, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, organic matter, inorganic suspended matter, heavy metals, bacteria and organic micro-pollutants, to complex algae and macrophyte dynamics. High performance solvers enable the simulation of long periods, often required to capture the full cycles of the processes being modelled. The finite volume approach underlying DELWAQ allows it to be coupled to both the structured grid hydrodynamics of the current Delft3D-FLOW engine and the upcoming D-Flow Flexible Mesh engine (1D-2D-3D) of the Delft3D Flexible Mesh Suite (or even other models such as TELEMAC). 'DELWAQ in open source' is our invitation to all leading experts to collaborate in further development and research in the field of water quality, ecology and morphology using Delft3D. Feel free to post your DELWAQ related questions or comments in this dedicated forum space. If you are new to DELWAQ, the tutorial (in the user manual) is a good place to start. Setting up DELPAR (D-Water Quality Particle Tracking) simulation from GUI
Jedi Knight Posts: 114 Join Date: 3/23/11 Recent PostsI'm an experienced D3D user, but new to trying to use the partucle tracking model [DELPAR (D-Water Quality Particle Tracking)].
I have GUI version 4.01.01.03rc but the PART component is missing from the GUI menu. I only have 'Information', 'Grid','Flow',' 'Wave', 'Water Quality', 'Utilities' available from the D3D menu.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Should it be possible to set up a PART simumtation using the D3D GUI? Or is one expected to set up a simulation by manually editing thr required input files? I am able to run PART simualtions given as part of the examples when compiling the source code. Does mean that the PART manual downloaded from Deltares website is not applicable to DELPAR?
This seems the silliest thing not to be able to solve...
Best regards,
Ben

Jedi Knight Posts: 114 Join Date: 3/23/11 Recent PostsAre you able to suggest a work around for the issue that Francesco Enrile and myself are encountering (and described elsewhere on this forum)?
That is, installing the PART GUI from the zip file you provided allows the GUI component to load, but when I try to create or edit a PART file, I get the following error message:
" The program can't start because libifcoremdd.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.".
Yet this dll file is already present at "\win32\rtc\bin"
Is anyone able to suggest a work around for this problem that would allow myself and Francesco Enrile to set up a particle tracking simulation?
Best regards,
Ben

Padawan Posts: 71 Join Date: 3/30/11 Recent PostsThe patch you sent suffers from the "not a valid Win32 application" error in XP which I reported in http://oss.deltares.nl/web/delft3d/general/-/message_boards/view_message/781227.
Do you have the same patch for 4.01.00.rc.09? The binaries for this release are error free...

João.
