Variable solar radiation in a fecal coliform process

Hi,
I'm trying to make a process with Escherichia Coli and a variable solar radiation during the day. How can I declare the variable RadSurf? I use the calcrad_uv but I don't know how to specify in the gui the variable solar radiation. The gui ask for a value.

Thanks in advance,

When typing the value for RadSurf you should see a button at the bottom of the GUI: Edit data
Click it then select Properties > Data Properties. The pop-up allows you to choose time-varying input. Properties > Details enables you to go for spatially varying input.

Alternatively you can also specify the values directly in the input file (see the input file description manual chapter 7). When dealing with a lot of input data this is often easier. You can format your data in separate files and refer to them in the main input file using INCLUDE statements.

Good luck!

Thanks for your comments, but the problem is I want to use the solar model of DELWAQ directly. I included the dayrad process but radsurf didn't change in the output. How do I have to include the solar model correctly?
Thank you in advance

Hi Javier,

Sorry I misunderstood your question. So you want radiation at the surface to be computed based on latitude, cloudiness etc... right?
This is not implemented in the processes library yet, but it is in Delft3D-Flow (all documented in the Flow manual), hence adding a similar process to DELWAQ should be straight forward.
You could give it a try and we'll be happy to assist you.

Christophe

Hi Christophe,

Referring to the previous discussion made by Javier about the solar model application based on the D-Water Quality module, I am keen to know if this process has been implemented in the Processes Library Configuration Tool (PLCT) of Version 5.04.01.29071.

If the process was not implemented in that version, may I know which PLCT's version this process has been fully implemented?

Regards,

Amyrhul
