Partitioning mdu file using command line interface

Hi,

I have used dflowfm-cli.exe to partition my case for parallel running. I am using the command below:

dflowfm-cli.exe --partition:ndomains=4:icgsolver=7 example.mdu

The mesh file can be successfully partitioned into 4 example_000x_net.nc files but no example_000*.mdu files appear as described in the manual.

Could anyone give me some help?

Thanks.

Hi,

I have figured it out. The partitioning can be done using the GUI shell and no command line script is needed anymore, i.e. mesh files and mdu files are well processed in shell.

The provided script is a little fuzzy to use in my windows 7, 40-core machine. I ended up directly calling mpiexec.exe and it works well now.

A following issue is that I cannot find much improvement in parallel running compared with serial. I will test with different number of cores and see how the efficiency improves.

Thanks.
Roger
