Deltares uses your personal data only for the specific purposes for which you supply the data. Your personal data will be kept only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which they have been collected. Deltares will not make your personal data available to third parties unless you have provided us with your explicit consent to do so, or if there is a legal obligation to do so. To protect your personal data, Deltares has a policy for information security and privacy management. We implement effective technical and organisational measures, including a management system for information security that complies with the international standard (ISO 27001: 2013) and relevant legislation and regulations; continuous procedures to increase our ability to cope with cyberthreats; measures for data backup, system access, system integrity, virus checking, passwords and encryption, and an effective corporate crisis plan.

If you want to see your personal data we process, you can send us a written request to that effect. It is also possible to view your personal data via your MyDeltares account. If some personal data prove not to be correct, we can correct them for you on your request or you can correct the data yourself via your MyDeltares account. You can also ask us to limit the processing of your personal data or to delete your personal data. If you have given your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Creating a MyDeltares account

When you create a MyDeltares account on one of the MyDeltares websites, your data will be store under your MyDeltares account. Here you will always be able to manage your data. Depending on the services you use from one or more of the MyDeltares websites, additional data can be requested. This data will be added to your MyDeltares account, where you will be able to manage it. We will not use these data for any purposes other than delivering the functionalities indicated on the MyDeltares websites. In addition, we record data for security purposes about the times you are logged in.

Your MyDeltares account, together with all your provided data, will automatically be removed or anonymized 3 years after your last login time.

Subscription to newsletter

Do you plan to subscribe to a Deltares newsletter? We will use the email address you provide only to send the newsletter. We will not pass on your data to third parties and, if we wish to do so at any time, we will do so only with your consent. Every newsletter will include a link for unsubscribing. If you unsubscribe from the newsletter, your email address will be removed from the relevant mailing list. It is also possible to manage your newletter subscriptions via your MyDeltares account. Here you can select which newsletters you would like to receive. On creation of your MyDeltares account you are by default registered for all newsletters.

Registration for an event

Do you plan to register for a Deltares event? We will use the data you provide (your name, organisation, position (optional) and email address) exclusively to register you for this event and to establish a picture in advance of the type of participants who have registered. We will not pass on your data to third parties and, if we wish to do so at any time, we will do so only with your consent. Both your personal information as your registration information is stored under your MyDeltares account, where you can manage it yourself. Your registration information will be stored as long as your account remains active or until you choose to remove it.
Purchase or download of free products or services
We process the requested data (your name, organisation (optional), address (optional), email address, and order details) in order to provide you with the requested products or services and to be able to provide you with adequate information if you have any questions. We will not pass on your data to third parties and, if we wish to do so at any time, we will do so only with your consent. For the purchase or download of free products or services additional information may be requested. All information will be added to your MyDeltares account, where you are able to manage it yourself. This information will be stored so long your account remains active or until you choose to remove it.

Purchase or download of paid products or services

We process the requested data (your name, organisation (optional), address (optional), invoice address (optional), email address, and order details) in order to provide you with the requested products or services and to be able to provide you with adequate support at your request. In addition, we may use this information to inform you about Deltares-related news reports, products, services or events that may be of interest to you. We will not pass on your data to third parties and, if we wish to do so at any time, we will do so only with your consent. For the purchase or download of paid products or services additional information may be requested. All information will be added to your MyDeltares account, where you are able to manage it yourself. This information will be stored so long your account remains active or until you choose to remove it. Invoice information will be stored, by our sales department, for a period of 7 years, as required by law. At the end of this 7-year period the information will be removed.

Posting messages on a forum or blog

Messages you post under your MyDeltares account on a forum or blog of one of the MyDeltares websites will be stored so long your MyDeltares account remains active. Once your MyDeltares account is removed, on your request or 3 years after the last login time, your posts will be anonymized. We will not use any collected data for any purposes other than supplying the functionalities on this website, namely forum functionality.

Termination of your MyDeltares account

In order to terminate your MyDeltares account, you must send an e-mail to mydeltares@deltares.nl. After receival of your request, your account will be removed. Any information linked to your account will also be removed or anonymized, with the exception of any invoice related data. By law, invoice related data must be stored for a period of 7 years, after which the data will be removed. Also your MyDeltares account will automatically be removed 3 years after the last login time.
