Depth varying velocity boundary

Youngling Posts: 1 Join Date: 2/1/19 Recent Posts
Hi all
I am currently trying to specify depth varying current velocities along an upstream boundary in a generic flume (with a depth of 100 m) to test my boundary input conditions in the Delft3D FM model. In the previous Delft3D model you are able to specify the current velocity per vertical layer on the boundary however the FM model implements a percentage from bed vertical position specification for its depth varying boundaries.

When I run the model using the new vertical boundary specification, the boundary imposes a depth averaged velocity and there is no vertical structure to the velocity imposed on my boundary. I have attached my velocity boundary input file and was wanting to know if I am implementing the depth varying velocities on my boundary incorrectly or if anyone has experience similar issues.

Regards
Calvin
