Delft3D FM Open Source Community
The worldwide open source release is scheduled for 2018.
For now, as (1) the 1D-2D-3D architecture is still subject to change and (2) we have to focus our limited resources, the access to the code is limited to a small group of 225+ Partners in Development worldwide.
This webportal facilitates the Partners in Development to come together to share knowledge and to brainstorm on new features. Together, we are continuously improving the source code.
The Delft3D Flexible Mesh Suite (Delft3D FM) will be the successor of the current Delft3D 4 Suite (structured, regular grids). For the Delft3D 4 Suite community, click here.
The launch of the Delft3D Flexible Mesh Suite 2016 (Delft3D FM) took place during the Our development team is working hard to make all components of Delft3D FM available in open source, both computational engines and Graphical User Interface components (GUI). For now, only DELWAQ, RTC-TOOLS and SWAN are available in open source, which are the computational engines of D-Water Quality, D-Real Time Control and D-Waves, respectively. The key component of Delft3D FM is the D-Flow Flexible Mesh (D-Flow FM) engine for hydrodynamical simulations on unstructured grids in 1D-2D-3D. As long as the 1D-2D-3D architecture of D-Flow FM is subject to change, the access to the D-Flow FM code will be limited to a small group of Partners in Development. We anticipate having D-Flow FM in open source for everyone in 2018, but it could become 2019/2020. For an introduction to Delft3D FM, please watch the demo videos on our website. |
