KnowledgeRules

Please note that this page informs on the automatic loaded knowledge rules available for HABITAT models. For a visual and textual overview of the available knowledge rules it is best to refer to the Ecological knowledge base WIKI pages.

The KnowledgeRules GitHub where knowledge rules are stored in a XML format can be found HERE! To get started with using the GitHub page we recommend this tutorial. Makes sure you have a download of the latest version of HABITAT.

The KnowledgeRules Github is an Open Access and Open Source storage platform for ecological knowledge rules that are accessible to the wider community. This platform provides environmental impact assessment knowledge rules for technical use in models and scripting. The platform is open for contribution to improving and adding knowledge rules that relate the presence, behavior or functioning of biological species in relation to the abiotic environment. The platform is meant to improve consistency and transparency in the use and re-use of ecological impact assessments in projects to assess (future) environmental changes – man made or natural. It thereby supports the assessment of models, field measurements and/or expert knowledge.

Overview of the use for XML knowledge rules from the KnowledgeRules GitHub. Environmental impact relations describing abiotic conditions, suitable habitat for species, habitattypes or policy thresholds (left) can be stored as knowledge rules (middle) and used for impact assement with models, scripts and expert assesment (right). This is data and tools are hosted on the KnowledgeRules Github page.
