Minimum value for overlapping IDFs

Youngling Posts: 5 Join Date: 11/26/18 Recent Posts

Hi there,

I have two partially overlapping IDFs at the same cell size (10m). I want to get the minimum value for each cell as a new IDF for the total combined area. When I use MapOperations>Special>Function>Min this seems to give a single minimum value to all cells for the area covered by one of the IDFs.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Gerry

Hi Gerry,

I can reproduce what you experience with the function MIN. So I also checked the other functions: MAX, MEAN and SUM.

Those functions perform correctly so my conclusion is we need to fix this in the code. It will be fixed in the next release (June?)

Thinking of a work around: you could multiply the IDF's with -1 and look for the maximum.

If your action includes many files, do this (re)conversion of the files in iMOD Batch (function IDFCALC).

There is an iMODBATCH function for calculating the MIN value of a series of IDFs (function IDFMEAN). However that function is set up for timeseries only.

(If you need to process a large number of files, I can give you some tips and trick to temporary rewrite your files to a timeseries format and nevertheless use this IDFMEAN batch function)

Regards,

Frans

Thanks Frans, I've only two files so I may try the multiplying by -1 option.
