Introduction to RTC-Tools 2.0 – Workshop Friday, 28 October 2016 Delft Software Days This 1-day intensive course is designed to learn the basics of Decision support system development using RTC-Tools. RTC-Tools is Deltares' open source software package for control and optimization of environmental systems. RTC-Tools sets itself apart from other packages with its ease of use, integration...
Deltares released RTC-Tools 2.0.0-beta1 on Friday, October 7th 2017. This is a beta release in preparation for the 2.0 release, which is scheduled for later this year. The 2.x series features: * A new focus on multi-objective optimization using lexicographic goal programming, to facilitate sequential optimization of prioritized goals. The traditional weighting...
On April 21st an OpenMI webinar was held with an OpenMI composition of an RTC-Tools model and a SOBEK model as demonstration example. We will publish the recorded webinar soon. Lecture notes and slides can already be downloaded from the OpenMI pages in the Deltares public wiki.
Major new features include: Scenario trees for efficient stochastic optimization; Chance constraints for stochastic optimization; A set of fully SOBEK2-compatible components for classical feedback control; Linux support; CMake build system; BMI interface for communication with Deltares' Next Generation Hydro Software (NGHS). Source...
RTC-Tools has a new product manager! Jorn Baayen has taken over RTC-Tools product management by February 2015 from Bernhard Becker. Jorn Baayen graduated in applied mathematics at TU Delft. Jorn Baayen is experienced in open source development, computational fluid dynamics modelling and the development of control systems. Read more about Jorn on:...
On Thursday 26 February 2015 at Deltares an internal OpenMI training was held. 19 participants learned about the basic concepts of OpenMI, the theoretical background of model coupling, OpenMI example projects and how to migrate code to OpenMI compliance. In an hands-on case the participants coupled a SOBEK 3 channel flow model and an RTC-Tools control model via OpenMI. The SOBEK model...

(2014): The Open RTC-Tools Software framework for Modeling Real-Time Control in Water Resources Systems. Journal of Hydroinformatics 17 (1), 130–148. http://www.iwaponline.com/jh/017/jh0170130.htm The article introduces the concept of RTC-Tools and contains...
Within the frame of the Critical Infrastructure Preparedness and Resilience Research Network (CIPRNet, www.ciprnet.eu) OpenMI demos have been given on April 24th, 2014 in Paris and on July 10th, 2014 in Rome (Italy). The demonstration case is an OpenMI composition with an RTC-Tools model and a Sobek model.
Within the frame of the 11th International Conference on Hydroinformatics an RTC-Tools course on Short-term Optimization of Reservoir Systems is given by Jan Talsma and Min Xu on Saturday, August 16th, 2014. Course information can be found here: http://hic2014.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/ShortCourse_DELTARES.pdf
